I resonate with this wholeheartedly and my partner and I grew up similarly, just in the US. We have pushed very hard to never do without either, but we had the ability to get there because of the privilege we do have.

THANK you for taking the time to think about this from a new perspective and to share, helping me - and others - consider the privileges we did/do have. Humility and empathy help us all be better humans.

Thanks so much for your comment Mindi, yeah it's a topic I find really difficult to talk about as I find it REALLY uncomfortable talking about where I grew up because I was made fun of quite a lot growing up.

I realise now that talking about it helps others who are currently in similar situations. I hope talking about these things inspires at least one other person who grew up in the same way, to pursue their dreams.
